Country Close Up – Nigeria

It’s Thursday, which means that it’s time for our country close up. After Justin’s recent trip to Nigeria, I thought it would be a great opportunity to find out more about this African country.

After last week’s post on Kenya, we’re changing coasts to get to Nigeria. As you can see from the map position, it is nestled between Benin and Cameroon and has a coastal region.

  • Football is Nigeria’s national sport.
  • Nigeria has the highest rate of twin births in the world, compared to any other country (so think twice before getting pregnant there).

    Nice country summary.
    The national capital’s correct spelling is Abuja.
    The aerial photo of Lagos is interesting cos of the lack of tar I see on those roads.
