20 bloggers can win in the Eat In South African Produce Awards competition
The fourth annual Eat In South African Produce Awards is searching for South Africa’s hidden food gems. The awards were created by Eat In magazine to recognise small independent producers and retailers whose integrity, care for the environment, passion and innovation are adding flavour to kitchens across the country.
Eat In’s editor Justine Drake loves it when South Africans share the homegrown product which inspire their mealtimes. Without fail, we manage to find cheese, atchar, bread, koeksisters and a myriad of other goodies in the unlikeliest of places.
Nominations within the 16 categories are open to shops, producers, cooks, home industries and farmers that are refining the art of creation and innovation within the local food industry. The winners will be announced in March 2010 when the 2010 edition of Eat In is launched.
To participate, email us your nomination for best new product to ops@afrigator.com and 20 bloggers will be selected to receive a package of homegrown goodies which can include anything from cheese to juice or yummy biscuits. The only criteria is that you have to blog about either the package or your favourite South African produce within seven days. Good luck!
